At an almost week-long Debate and Public Speaking Tournament hosted by Kwekwe Polytechnic, which brought together 20 institutions drawn from Zimbabwe's Polytechnics and Teachers Colleges, Kwekwe Polytechnic emerged the champions. The winning team comprised of Philip Banda (Electronic Computer Systems) and Donald Ruhukwa (DPF).
